Chapter 19

A/N: I have nothing else to say, except three things.
1. I am terribly sorry for not updating for so long.
2. I am grateful to those who have read, and still read this. It makes me so proud to know that at least some people like how things are going with this.
3. I will not abandon this.

Thank you to the readers. You don't know how happy I am to read your notes in here. :)
DuGi Thank you for your reply in the email. That really warmed my heart. Thank you so much.

Karen Ah, everybody has been so busy with school, right? Hopefully, you'll get lots of rest. Don't be like me and get stressed a lot. Hehe. Anyway, I am back! Thank you for leaving a message. Seeing it really made me smile.
Gade Wow! A new reader! That brought my spirits up, hehe. Especially now that I had just returned. I'm glad you liked it. Hope you like this new one! If you'd want, give me your email so I can email you when I update. :)

AND NOW.. FINALLY.

-SEUNG GI'S POV-
Have you ever had that moment?

When the world stops, butterflies in your stomach kind of thing? When you feel your cheeks warming up and fuming in a way that you want it?

You know… Those things that happen in every cliché movie or story that people read or watch... That whole, ‘the world stops when you look at her’ kind of thing.

You find yourself smiling when you realize that she looked your way. You try to suppress a giggle, but laugh anyway, no matter how high an octave your voice reaches for a man your age.

You trip on your own two feet when you realize that you can feel her gaze on you… And you’re not even sure if she was looking at you.

I still remember vividly how much I enjoyed moments like those when I was still with Ayumi… when she was still with me. Now that she was gone, I doubted it… doubted myself. I doubted if I still had the capacity and the courage to love someone as much as I did with Ayumi. I know that it was not her fault that she died…

But why did she have to leave me?

And why did she have to do it so dramatically?

Those thoughts ran through my head as I heard Ayumi’s song play in the radio in the coffee shop.

I’ll give all my love to you
In every single way I know how
Even if I’m in another world
Don’t doubt how I’ll do
I’ll give all my love–

“… to you.” I whispered.

I sighed and tried to calm myself down as I remembered how happy I was with Ayumi. I smiled a bit and laughed silently, tapping on the table in front of me. The song kept on playing.

I know that you’re hiding things
But please don’t be scared to come to me
I’ll never ever leave you
Even if it means having to give up on life
I’ll never ever leave you–“

“–even if it means that I have to die…” I croaked. And I sang the lyrics continuously.

Don’t be afraid– “–Cos I’ll be waiting…”
Take my hand– “–I’ll never let go…”
And if it happens– “–That I might not see you anymore…”
Look up and smile– “–and wait. I’ll be coming in a while…”

The song kept on playing like it was the longest song in the world. My vision started to become blurry as my eyes started becoming warmer, slowly filling up with tears at the corners. I whispered the lyrics as if I was talking to her… Like she was just right in front of me, when suddenly, I was cut off.

“Wow. I didn’t know that you were an Ayumi fan.”

I looked up and it was Da Hae. Aish… I’m not a fan… I’m her past boyfr–

“Here’s your order,” she chimed and placed my drink on the table. “We hope you enjoy it thank you for coming and ordering we hope to see you soon and if ever you have comments suggestions or anything you want to say the comment box is just right beside the wall with the many pictures of stars that have come here we have had over a hundred of them as regular customers because in here we only serve the best coffee anybody can possibly ask for we hope you enjoy your stay thank you annyeong.” And she bowed before finally walking away, leaving me slightly baffled by her speech in one breathe.

“Wait!” I held her arm and stopped her in her tracks. “Can you… uhm… sit with me?”

I watched her as she changed her expression from a bored one to a face with eyes that could have gone out of their sockets.

“I mean… Don’t take this wrong though! It’s not like I’m asking you out for a date or whatever…” By that time, her face turned into a frown, “NOT… That, there’s… uhm… anything wrong with that. But… I just… I just need somebody to talk to…” I tried to explain.

She looked back at the counter and I saw her give a ‘can-I-stay-here-for-a-while’ look at the ahjumma at the counter. The ahjumma replied with a smile and a nod, so she sat down in front of me, crossed her legs, and leaned on the table, resting her chin in one hand.

I sipped my drink and…

She was right. It was the best. I smiled to myself and sighed as I drank it merrily.

“See. I told you it was the best,” she snorted and giggled.

“Yeah…” I replied, speechless over the taste. It really was good.

An awkward silence filled the air as I continued drinking, while she was just watching me drink. From time to time, I stole some glances at her, only to find her gaping at me with eyes that looked lovely. She had very pretty eyes, with a color I couldn’t seem to distinguish between blue and brown. Blue-brown? That doesn’t even make sense, no? But it looked like it was blue… and brown.

As if reading my mind, she coughed slightly and said, “They’re blue and brown.” She smiled and rested her arms on the table.

I felt myself blushing at the thought that she caught me. “Heh… Sorry about that.”

“Eh, it’s okay. It’s noticeable anyway. I’ve always had people asking me about it.”

“How’d it happen anyway?” I asked curiously.

“I really don’t know. I’ve had it ever since I was a kid, so it must be a gene thing.”

I bit on my straw as I looked into her eyes once again. She had loads of make-up on, red lipstick with blue eye shadow and her hair was gelled into a neat bun – fit for a coffee shop like this. I don’t really like girls wearing too much make-up on, but her eyes got to the best of me. Nothing seemed fake.

“So…” She whistled, “Why did you want to talk?” Her smile was so genuine, making it look like she knew me even before this first encounter. I sheepishly scratched my head as I didn’t know how to say… actually, WHAT to say.

“It’s about Chae Yeon, huh?” She asked before I could say anything.
“Look… It’s been, what, one day? Yeah… One day since I knew her. Yeah, I see her on TV and stuff, but other than that. I DON’T know her. So why do I find myself –“

“Liking her?” She continued, “Well DUH, Seung Gi-sshi. You’re a guy. It’s normal.”

“Well it isn’t for me!” I said, raising my voice a little which sent her somehow flustered.

“Omo, don’t tell me that you’re ga–“
“Ya! I am NOT gay!! If that’s where you’re going, no!”

She sighed in relief (at least I think she did) and chuckled a sorry before asking me to continue.
“What I meant is that… It’s not like me to like someone so instantly.”

“Well that’s a problem.”

“I know…”

We sat there for a couple of seconds before she answered again, “You know Seung Gi-sshi? I would love to help you out… I really would,” I saw at the corner of my eyes as she started reaching out for my hand, but at the last moment, retreated it back, “But then I don’t know what to say. I’m not really the best person to turn for advice to.” I saw her smile genuinely.

“Th-thanks…”

“And if I did know what to tell you… I don’t know if I will tell. I just don’t want to say things that’ll keep your hopes up. With a girl like Chae Yeon, it’s hard to see those guys that she rejects just out of nowhere. It breaks my heart to see her do those things to those guys.”

I grunted, frustrated with what she’s coming to. “So what are you trying to say? That I’m gonna be played by her? That I’m just going to be dumped all of a sudden?”

“Seung Gi-sshi, I’m not trying to say it. I’m stating the obvious. And Seung Gi… You’re younger than her. Doesn’t that make things a bit harder?”

“So what if I’m younger?!” I suddenly shouted, not noticing that the tone in my voice was somewhere in the lines of anger. I bit my bottom lip and whispered a mian to her. I looked around and saw the ahjumma giving me a glare, so I bowed politely, before sitting down back again.

She shook her head and poked my hands. “So you like her?”

Fiddling with my hands, I grumbled under my breathe. “I suppose so…”

- END OF SEUNG GI’S POV -

* * * *

“So this is how it feels…” Chae Yeon sighed to herself dreamily, tightening on the grip she had.

“Feels to have what, a boyfriend?” Tei teased, tickling her sides which caused her to almost fall off the chair.

“Tei!” She laughed heartily, “Stop it! S-st-stop i-it!” She couldn’t handle the tickling. She felt herself fall on the floor, but still continued laughing and laughing as if the two of them weren’t in a public place.

Tei laughed as he watched her holding on to her stomach, trying to suppress her laughter. He giggled as he noticed how her eyes disappeared and turned into crescents as she roared out loud – HAHAHAHA! Her voice reached such a high note that it made him cringe a little, but he still continued laughing with her.

She wouldn’t stop, she never did. When you made Chae Yeon laugh, it will take a century to make her stop. She would continue laughing, and probably won’t remember what made her laugh in the first place – which will amuse her and will probably laugh at herself for doing so again. It was a never-ending cycle, and Tei knew this. Tei knew her.

“Ya! Get up! Stop embarrassing me in front of these people!” Tei shouted quietly, pointing at the tables in the room.

Chae Yeon looked at him with a ‘what-the-heck’ look and pointed out, “Duh oppa. There aren’t any people in here!” She looked around in the empty room, still giggling on the floor.
“There won’t be any if you stay there laughing like a lunatic. Come here!” He then stood up from his seat and bent down to her level. She was still giggling, but instantly stopped when she felt him kiss him on the forehead. She blushed as he did, but flushed to an even redder color as she was picked up by him bridal style. Tei grunted and teased her as if she was heavy. Chae Yeon jokingly punched her on the chest, until finally leaned in her head to nuzzle in his neck.

Tei sat back on the chair, placing Chae Yeon on his lap. They fixed themselves in a comfortable position, and as they did, Chae Yeon threw her arms around him. Tei responded by putting his arms around her waist, bringing her closer, leaning onto her forehead.

She looked down on his lips and remembered how they were just kissing a moment ago.

Tei looked down on her lips as he recalled how much he enjoyed it.

“Babe…” The both of them said.

They both giggled. Chae Yeon threw her head back and Tei watched her. She then proceeded to hug him, to which Tei gladly returned.

Chae Yeon thought to herself and whispered. Please… Pleaseee… Don’t make this moment end.

Ah, Chae Yeon-ah, if you only made your voice a little louder…

-SEUNG GI’S POV-

I came out the building just in time to see a group of screaming fan girls waiting for–
“SEUNG GI OPPPA!!!”
“SARANGHAE!!”
“WAAAAAAAAAAH! MARRY MEEEE OPPA!”

– Me?!

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”

Scream after scream, I couldn’t really make out whose voice was whose as one after the other, girls started swarming over me. All I could do was hunch over.

“KYAAA! Look at him! He’s soo cuuuuuuuuuuute!!!”

They started running after me, I saw at the corner of my eyes. Seeing them cover over to me, I stood up straight and suppressed my… my… fear, if you can call it like that, of being man-pounded by these fans, with a smile. Smile Seung Gi-ah.

“Oppa! We’re your biggest fans! Ca#&^#$&^#@”
“*&(*#*#@^$&#^ muffins @)!(#@*%&@# her *(@&*#”
“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~”

I couldn’t quite make out what they were trying to tell me as one by one they tried to touch my hands, my shirt, my hair and my face. “Girls, girls–” I tried to calm them down, but none of it worked. Nervous laughter escaped through my mouth, as I tried veering past them, but to no avail.

I giggled a bit to hide my nervousness. Although I was very flattered that they were swooning because of me, and that I had fans, it did get kind of scary. “What do you girls want?” I addressed to them, smiling and holding on to my sanity which was teetering slightly off-balanced like it was on a high-cliff, waiting to just drop.

“A PICTUREE!”
“A PHOTO!!”
“CAN YOU SIGN THIS FOR ME?!”
“YOUUU!!”
“KYAAAAA! OPPA!”

I couldn’t understand why there weren’t any guards to fix the situation, when it dawned on me that they probably had already gone home since it was a day off from work. “Okay, okay,” I laughed, “Here,”

One by one, I signed my CD covers, took pictures with girls jumping under my arms around them, giggling and holding up peace signs to the equally giddy camera girls who were taking pictures. Occasionally, some of them stole kisses to my cheek and squealed near my ear. I let them, because there really wasn’t anything wrong with it. I mean, it was my first time to interact with fans ever since I became an artist.

“OPPA! You’re so niiiiice~”
“Thank you opppaaaaaa! I wish you were my real opppppa!”
“OMO!” One girl commented and pouted, “He can’t be my oppa! I’m older! I can be your noona!”

Noona.

They continued laughing and taking pictures of me awkwardly standing on knees that I felt were about to fall to the ground.

Noona.

Psh. Don’t deny it, Seung Gi-ah.
Why did you suddenly shut up, huh?
Whose name popped in your head when you heard it: Noona.

“-RANGHAEEEEEEE!”

I looked up to see the fans were now walking away. Snapping out of it, I bowed, bid them goodbye, and waved my hand while smiling genuinely. Some blushed, some giggled, some put their fists up in the air.

“Hwaiting! You can do it, oppa~” They squealed in delight.

“Dongsaeng a~ I will be a good noona to you~” One screamed, throwing her arms in the air as they ran off giggling and laughing to themselves.

I felt tired after this fan encounter for obvious reasons. Smiling for 30 minutes straight, trying to control an insane mob of girls… Aish. It was very tiring. I ran a hand through my hair and it dawned on me that I haven’t reached the coffee place that hyung was talking about. Heaving a sigh, I trudged stealthily, cautious of lurking fan girls hiding in who knows where. It wasn’t long before the small building came to view.

I looked through the glass door and became fond of it already. It looked like a very relaxing place, with a sort of ‘antique’ feel to it. Wooden chairs, wooden tables with glass countertops, a chandelier in the middle of the room made of glass jewels that looked very pretty with the reflections of the light. As soon as I my foot stepped into the room, the smell of coffee reached my nose and a smile crept up my face. I’ve always loved my coffee smelling this way. Enough for me to say that it smelled like home.

A young lady greeted me from the counter. “Annyeong haseyo!”

“A-anyeong,” I smiled, and looked around the room.

“You must be new!” she bellowed, maybe because I was curiously looking around the room mesmerized by the pretty interiors.

I giggled and said, “Ne. A friend of mine suggested that I check this place out.”

The waitress scoffed, “I bet it was Kim Jong Kook, no?”

“Haha, yes. How did you know?”

Her eyes became crescent as she spoke, “He’s always recommending this place to the other stars. He’s like a walking advertisement, and we’re not even paying him to advertise.”

“Then your coffee must be really good.”

“We try,” she winked and said, “So what will you have?”

“Anything you recommend?”

“Oh, you should look at that wall,” she pointed at the wall beside the counter, “It’s a list of the drinks that celebrities usually order.”

My mouth formed an ‘o’ and I looked to my left and scanned the wall. It had over 100+ names of stars. Surprisingly a big number, considering the fact that the coffee shop was rather small. I scanned the names hastily to find a coffee drink that would catch my attention, but something else did.

Chae Yeon – Strawberries and Cream Frap with extra Cookies and Cream topping

I sighed and spoke to myself. Chae Yeon noona. Tsk. Why must you always find ways to catch my attention?

I brought my finger up to her name on the wall and smiled. The waitress suddenly coughed, “Ahem. So… Chae Yeon’s drink?”

“What?”

“Chae Yeon’s drink? Are you going to order it?” Suddenly, she seemed very impatient.

“Oh no, no. It just, uhm… Caught my attention.”

She scoffed and replied, “Yours and all the other men in the world. Why do you guys like her anyway?”

“I didn’t say I like her.”

She smirked at me and replied, “Right. Like all the other men in the world.” She sighed and punched in the order. “Wait! Wait! No! That’s not my order,” I fidgeted, grabbing her arm before she can punch in much more.

The waitress then grunted and blew a big heavy breathe to make her bangs fly off of her face. “Then what will you get?”

Interesting. Why did she suddenly get all cranky? PMS, maybe?

“Oh. And if you’re thinking why I’m getting all cranky and stuff, it’s because this happens all the time. A lot of guys like Chae Yeon unni and it’s frustrating how she just hurts them in the end.”

“Hurts them?” Aigo. My Chae Yeon noona will never do that.

“Yeah. She’s like a player version for the guys. It’s sad. The boys like the ‘idea’ of who Chae Yeon is. But if they find out how she really is… Hah. Sucks to be them.”

“How do you know these things?” I asked curiously. For a waitress, she seemed like she could replace all the hosts in the gossip shows on TV (not… that, uhm, I watch them or anything)…

...

Moving on…

“I see Chae Yeon with guys all the time in this place. She’s a regular. Got used to it, so… uh, yeah.”

“Don’t you get fed up with it?”

“Of course I do. All the oppas she brings are depressingly hot!” She started fanning her face. “I’d kill to have oppas as goodlooking as hers. But then again, I’m just a waitress. No one will ever look at me the same way they look at Chae Yeon.”

I sighed at her and saw that she was biting her lip in an odd way. I held her shoulder comfortably and spoke, “Because Chae Yeon and you are different, uhm…” Realizing I hadn’t known her name yet, I glanced at her name plate: Lee Da Hae, “Lee Da Hae.” I repeated.

“What do you mean?” She asked curiously.

“People see other people differently. People who like Chae Yeon may not like you. But people who like you may not like noona. The world doesn’t have a given set of criteria that everybody has to follow. If that were it, then all the men in the world would be fighting over Lee Hyori and her ONLY.”

“But everybody loves Hyori…”

“Not my point.”

“Then what IS the point?” She tapped her finger on the countertop while raising one of her eyebrows.

I grinned and shrugged, placing a sarcastic tone in my voice. “I don’t know. You tell me.”

She stared at me for what may be a lifetime before finally replying, “That’ll be $ 10.”

I snickered, paid her, and replied, “Pleasure doing business with you.”

“I look forward to seeing you here again, uhhhh…”

“Seung Gi….” I continued, “Lee Seung Gi.”

“Seung Gi-sshi,” she replied, before retreating back to her bar to fix up my drink – when it hit me that I didn’t even know what it was.

Laughing to myself, I looked for a table outside but saw that there were some girls sitting there. So I decided to sit inside.

And the moment I sat down, I suddenly heard the first and the last thing I wanted to hear for the day.

Thursday

The directors gave the X-Man stars time off. Outside the building of the show was a coffee shop. It was low profile that was why a lot of stars frequented there. There were pictures of Park Myung So, Hodong, MC Yoo, Dong Bang Shin Ki, Super Junior, and probably most of the stars who have become guests in an X-Man episode.

Touching the picture frames, Chae Yeon smiled when she saw the picture of Tei and the baristas. The baristas were two ladies, one in her late thirties, one a little younger, maybe the daughter. Tei had his hands over both their shoulders while the two women looked excited, with big smiles painted on their faces. Tei had his knees bent to reach the ajumma’s height, as the two ladies both held the peace signs. It was a cute picture. Chae Yeon giggled.

She scanned all the other pictures before finally sitting back at her chair, the table at the farthest corner of the shop. The coffee shop’s inside was small, so it had a lot of chairs outside. But Chae Yeon always preferred to stay inside to listen to the soothing music that they always played.

As she sat down, she didn’t have to look at the menu that the waitress had offered because she always frequented here. “The usual,” Chae Yeon answered when the waitress asked for her order. The waitress then bowed, so Chae Yeon smiled at her before watching her walking away.

Chae Yeon had always liked going and staying in this coffee shop because it always felt like…

Like home.

As soon as one steps into the shop, the smell of coffee and warmth shall have been felt by then. The smiles of the baristas are of great help as well, along with the greetings that they enthusiastically give out. Even if she were as big as a star as she was, she felt right at home in that shop, with her feet in an Indian position on the comfy chair she always sat in. She was always busy with her schedule, so she barely had enough time to go home and just relax.

Chae Yeon stretched her arms and sunk into her seat, enjoying the music that was playing. It was some sort of bossa nova music by Sitti. She put up both of her pointy fingers and bopped her head. “Hm-mmm-mmm,” she hummed along. It was enough to keep her mind off of things.

“Chae Yeon-sshi, here is your order.”

Chae Yeon smiled and said her thanks. The waitress politely bowed and gave her some tissue.

Sigh.

That was all that Chae Yeon had to say and do after sipping onto her coffee. She recalled what happened today and sighed – Seung Gi, Tei, and HaHa. A smile crept up her face. Things were clear with HaHa, and they have now finally settled on being just good friends. Good. And, of course. Tei was officially hers, who couldn’t be happier? All good.

But… But what about Seung Gi? She was not really sure why she was even thinking about him. The smile on her face washed away as she bit her bottom lip.

She really didn’t like like him. Because… Of course. She just met him today. Duh. But somehow, Chae Yeon felt as though she could relate to Seung Gi. Looking into his eyes, that hurt she saw in his eyes at the dock triggered something in her to give him a second look. She felt as though they were on the same page when it came to some things. She knew how he felt.

“Aigo,” Chae Yeon whispered as she put down her cup of coffee. She had burned her tongue with the coffee, so she put the cup down. She stuck out her tongue and got the tissue, placing it on her tongue to soothe the pain. “Ouch, ouch, ch, ch ch,” she started.

“You know that won’t do any help, right?”

Looking up, she saw Tei at the counter. She hadn’t noticed him come in earlier. Tei came in the shop and went to the counter. He had ordered his drink before finally sitting down across Chae Yeon. He giggled when he saw her not moving, with one hand on her tongue, and the other fanning her face.

“Ell ith huths tho muts! Its thmy fith thym thoo geth –ouch, burned,” she was chanting, before finally putting her hands down.

“Wellth sthop thdoing thath if ith huths tho mutch coth ith wonth do anything,” Tei said giggling, imitating how she was talking. “Hahaha, you look so ugly,” he then commented.

“Ya!” she punched him lightly in the arm. “Ugly?!”

“Yeah,” Tei teased. “With your tongue and all that tissue in your face. Is it that bad to have me as a boyfriend that you make yourself look hideous that way?” Tei tried to keep a serious face, but couldn’t help giggling.

“I barely have you as a boyfriend for a day!” Chae Yeon replied, “But if you want to break up with me by saying that I’m ugly, let’s end it right here, pft-fft-pwe–” she laughed as she removed the pieces of tissue off her mouth.

Tei then leaned forward, still laughing, as he helped her remove the little bits of tissue on her face.”Just kidding, Baby. You know you can’t live without me.”

Chae Yeon lifted her eyebrow, “You and your ego.”

“I know,” Tei nodded and smiled.

They sat there in silence, until the last piece of tissue was off of her face. By that time, the waitress had come to bring Tei’s order. “Here is your order, Tei-sshi.”

Tei politely bowed his head and said thank you with a smile. Chae Yeon saw the waitress blush as he did. She finally noticed that it was the same waitress in the picture she was looking at a while ago. Laughing, they waited for the waitress to go back to the counter before finally looking at each other once again.

“What?” Chae Yeon asked, as she was about to have another sip at her coffee.

Tei, noticing that she was about to drink from her hot cup of coffee again, said, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

“Ya. I’m not that stupid. I won’t be bur– ouch, ohohohouch,” Chae Yeon wailed again. She put the coffee down again and started fanning her tongue as she stuck it out.

“Told you,” Tei remarked, with a sly smile on his face.

“Ice! Ice! It’s so hot ouch-ouch-ouch,” she barked.

“It’s going to hurt even more if you put something as cold as ice with that. Just let it cool down, hahaha!” Tei explained as he sat next to her in the couch, which was surprisingly big enough for the both of them.

“Stop laughing! Ohoho, it burns!!,” she wailed.

Then suddenly, Chae Yeon felt something against her… her lips.

“There. Feel better?” Tei asked, smiling.

“I-I-uh–“

Before she could finish, Tei had already kissed her once again. His hands holding onto hers, she gripped on them tightly as she felt him kissing her softly. She felt herself melting into his arms as he let go of her hands and hugged her tightly. She placed her arms around his neck, letting him kiss her as he did.

She closed her eyes. Chae Yeon could feel a smile on his lips in between their kisses, but that didn’t stop them. Once or twice she would open her eyes to catch a glimpse of Tei, and as she closed her eyes again, she could feel him running his hands through her hair.

She felt excited.

Excited, that for once in her life, she didn’t have to try to be happy. It just happened. With Tei, all she could feel was happiness and comfort. She couldn’t wait for more days to come, with more moments like this with Tei. As they broke off their kiss, she still had her eyes closed as she felt Tei’s hand slowly holding on to her face. His touch sent her on a high. She smiled and opened her eyes, to see Tei looking lovingly at her. She jerked at him suddenly and hugged him. Tei hugged her back, and whispered in her ears.

“We should drink coffee more often.”

“Uhm, hyung?”

Jong Kook looked back to see Seung Gi at the door.

“Oh, Seung Gi-sshi. What brings you here?” Jong Kook asked, obviously surprised because he was sure he had sent all the stars home for a break. “You guys have free time today, you should go out.” Jong Kook smiled encouragingly.

“Uhm… U-Uh, nothing. I j-ju–“

“Oh come in, come in. Sit down,” the assistant director said, as he motioned for the sofa to Seung Gi.

Seung Gi nodded his head and made his way to the sofa near the mirror. “I just wanted to, uhm… To, uhm,” Seung Gi fidgeted in his seat as he was speaking.

Jong Kook’s eyes became crescent as he smiled at Seung Gi. “What? Speak up boy. Chae Yeon won’t hear you so much if you spoke like that.”

“I don’t like her, okay?!”

Jong Kook snorted. “Riiiiiiight. You can be honest with me, Seung Gi-sshi. I may be an assistant director here, but I can still be cool and keep a secret about things.”

Seung Gi laughed a little and sighed. “I don’t even know if I like her. It’s like… I don’t really know how I feel, you know?”

“No, I don’t know.” Jong Kook replied sarcastically.

The two laughed uncomfortably and there was a long pause.

“You know that feeling, hyung?”

“No, I don’t. Why don’t you tell me?”

Seung Gi paused and looked up, looking as if he could see the answer plastered on the ceiling in big bold letters. “I don’t know. It’s like… After the… the accident,” Seung Gi squinted because of the bright lights and had put one of his hands up to cover the shine, “It’s like…”

“Why don’t you try looking at me instead of the lights? You know, like how a normal person would act when conversing with other people.”

The moment Seung Gi looked straight, a tell fell out of his eyes.

Oh… No wonder he was looking up. Jong Kook thought. “Sorry,” he scratched his head, “Just continue with what you were saying. What accident were you talking about?”

Seung Gi shifted in his seat uncomfortably, almost as if he was regretful that he had opened up the topic. He had never opened up to anybody about his feelings, let alone to a person he has just met recently.

“This girl,” Seung Gi paused, “This really special girl, in a car accident… I thought it was the end of me. But when I saw Chae Yeon nuna, it was like the memory of hers came back… I thought I forgot about her, but when I saw Chae Yeon nuna, I wanted to bring her ba-ack.” His voice cracked towards the end.

“I’m sorry for your loss…”

“I am too.”

“But Seung Gi sshi, you know that it’s impossible to bring her back, right?”

“I know that. That is why I liked Chae Yeon. She reminded me so much of Ayumi. I want Chae Yeon. I like her so much.”

Hearing this, Jong Kook shook his head and sighed. He looked up to his dongsaeng. “If you see it that way, then that’s definitely wrong.”

“Why? What’s wrong with me liking Chae Yeon?”

Jong Kook put one hand on Seung Gi’s shoulder and explained. “You like Chae Yeon because she reminded you so much of Ayumi, right?” Seung Gi nodded his head so Jong Kook continued. “Then you don’t like Chae Yeon. You only like her because you see Ayumi in her. Let’s put it this way. I have a red apple. I want to eat it so badly but I lost it. Then I see a red notebook. Because I want the red apple, I end up eating the red notebook because I saw that they were both red, and it reminded me so much of my red apple. See the logic?”

Seung Gi suppressed a giggle as he answered, “As funny as it sounded, yes.”

“Good. That is not supposed to be the case between you and Chae Yeon. You should like Chae Yeon for who is she is. It’s even sort of disrespectful to Chae Yeon, really, if you just use her as a reminder for an ex. Like her for who she is. She is so much more than just a pretty face.”

“How do you know, hyung?”

Kim Jong Kook looked up and smiled, “Because I just do. I’ve worked with her for a long time already. She has such a big heart, Seung Gi. I wouldn’t want to hurt her and use her if I were you.”

“I won’t hurt her.”

“That’s good. Because if you do, Tei won’t be able to forgive you.” Jong Kook laughed heartily.

As for Seung Gi, the moment he mentioned Tei’s name, something tugged him inside. He laughed awkwardly as put his hands to his forehead.

“Nervous?” Seung Gi heard his hyung comment.

“For what?”

“Tei.” His smile was uncalled for.

“Hyung. I don’t want to look like a home wrecker! I don’t know how I feel about her!” Seung Gi looked at him in the eyes with furrowed eyebrows.

As soon as he did, Jong Kook saw in his eyes the honesty of a young boy in love. He saw his old self as he looked at Seung Gi. For he too was once in love. He too was once confused.

“Tell you what,” Jong Kook stood up, “Why don’t you go to the coffee shop near this building? It’s a good place to think things over. Plus, I have a nice picture on the wall there. I looked pretty cool. You should see it, go over there and think things over.”

“B-bu–“

“No buts. Here,” Jong Kook handed him some bills, “It’s on me. You need a break.”

Seung Gi could not reject his offer, so he stood up, accepted the money and bowed.

“Thank you, hyung. This actually made me feel better.”

“That’s good. It sort of made me feel like a girl, how we talked like we were gossiping and – ya! What was that for?!”

Laughing to himself, he felt relieved to having punched his hyung in the arm. “Mian, you sort of deserve it.”

The both of them laughed before the moment was cut off by a telephone call. Finally finding his cell phone in one of the many pockets in his blazer, Jong Kook answered, “Yeah? …. Uhuh… How many more? Oh wait a second–“ He looked back at Seung Gi and said, “Hey. Sorry to cut this short, but the director wants me to come over and help with some stuff. I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” He waved his hand and ran towards the door. “Bye.”

“Bye hyung, thank you again.”

The day was getting better.

“The day is getting better.”

Okay. Here we go!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

-TEI AND SEUL GI-

“Maybe I AM wrong, Tei! Maybe how I feel is wrong! Maybe I don’t like you! Maybe I do! I don’t know!”

Tei sighed and looked at her. “Seul Gi-ah, don’t be like this.”

Seul Gi gasped and grunted. “Don’t be like what Tei?! I’m sick of this. I’m sick of having to be the second choice in everything. I let Chae Yeon get the jobs that were supposed to be mine! I always had the best things to say about her because she’s my best friend. I’ve always been regarded as ‘Chae Yeon’s friend’! Not Seul Gi, not Bae Seul Gi. But ‘Chae Yeon’s friend’. I let her get everything!” Tears had already formed in her eyes. “But for her to have you! That is asking too much already! Please Tei,” she came near him and as her voice cracked, she wailed, “I’ve liked you way back… E-even..” she wiped a tear, “even before she did!” she pointed to the picture of Chae Yeon in the room, “Why can’t you see that?”

Tei never liked it when he saw girls cry. It was his weakness. To see tears falling from such delicate and beautiful faces, it made him sad and guilty – especially for the fact that the reason why this girl crying in front of him was crying because of him. He held on to her shoulders, “Seul Gi-ah… Why now? Don’t you think it’s an inappropriate time to tell me this?”

“If it is, then when is the appropriate time, huh? All my life I’ve tried to make myself forget how I felt for you because I knew that you wouldn’t see me the way you liked Chae Yeon. It was impossible. So I didn’t want to tell you. I didn’t have to tell you. You really wouldn’t care anyway! You–"

“Seul Gi, I–“

“Shut it. Let me finish. Would you have accepted me if I told you I liked you? Answer me.”

Tei’s shocked expression was obviously the answer. He ran a hand through his hair and mumbled, “I don’t kn–”

“Don’t what? Don’t know?” Seul Gi furrowed her eyebrows and bit her lower lip. “Of course you do! You love Chae Yeon. You will never leave Chae Yeon. You will never replace her for anybody. You breathe her. You live for her. You love her!”

Tei grunted and spoke, “Isn’t that enough proof for you to move away and forget me, Seul Gi?!” Before he could think, the words just came out. Seul Gi held one hand up her mouth as the tears fell, silencing the room.

“Omo…” Her faint voice was barely heard.

Some girls would have ran away and left the situation hanging – but not Seul Gi. She was a strong girl. She never took things backing down, and this was no exemption – no matter how much it hurt.

“Seul Gi, you’re Chae Yeon’s best friend. You’re the one who she should be painting her nails with. The one she goes to and cries on when we fight. The one who she spends the rest of her days giggling over boys and Hollywood Celebrities like Bad Pritt–“

“Brad Pitt…” Seul Gi corrected him.

“Brad Pitt. Yeah. Anyway, I’m flattered to know how much you like me, Seul Gi ah.” Tei came up to her and held her in a hug. She leaned on his body and whimpered while listening. “But you already said that I love Chae Yeon, and that’s the truth. I don’t know how I’ll be without her.” By then, Seul Gi had already wet his clothes. “I hope this won’t affect your relationship with her. She needs you as her best friend. I need you to be there for her.”

Tei paused, waiting for Seul Gi to respond. Seeing that she wasn’t talking, he continued. “I’m sorry but I cannot accept your heart. I know how it feels to be rejected, Seul Gi.” He stepped back and held her face with his hands, “I too was once heartbroken. I thought that I was going to die when the girl I’ve loved for 4 years rejected me.” Tei looked down and sighed. “Actually, I think I did die. Nothing really mattered to me anymore back then, and I lived my life like a robot. But when Chae Yeon came into my life, everything changed. I can’t let her go Seul Gi. I just can’t.”

“T-Tei…”

“I’m sorry.”

Seul Gi sniffed and held his hands. “Chae Yeon is very lucky to have you. I’m sorry for this… It’s not really me to just go bursting out…”

“It’s okay,” he pat her head, “it happens to the best of us.”

“I’m sorry, Tei.”

“It’s okay, come here. Cry all you want. I’m here.” Tei held her again in a tight embrace.

“Nothing will change after this, okay?”

Seul Gi let him hug her, tight as she had wanted and needed. She looked up to Tei, and for the last time, savored the moment. For the last time, she savored the feeling of being near him and feeling butterflies inside. For the last, very last time, she savored the feeling of being in love with Kim Ho Kyung.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

-HAHA AND CHAE YEON-

“HAHAHAHAHAHAH!”

Unlike in the room where Tei and Seul Gi were, loud laughter was all that was heard from the room of Chae Yeon and Haha.“That was hilarious!” Chae Yeon laughed, slapping her thighs and throwing her head back.

Ahh. She looks so pretty this way.

“I can’t believe that elephant did that!” She said, hugging herself as she complained how much her stomach hurt from too much laughing.

KYAAAAAA. You look so cute!

“HAHAHAHA! And that zookeeper! OHOHOHO!” She then started snorting loudly this time, unable to contain the laughter. “OMOO MY STOMACH!!!”

Ah. When will you ever take me seriously?

“Ahehehe,” Chae Yeon then started whimpering down, wiping a few tears in the process. “It’s been such a long time since I laughed so hard. HaHa, you really are the best.”

Hearing those words, HaHa woke up from a daze and smiled at her awkwardly. “The best?”

“Hmm.” Chae Yeon nodded and smiled. “I mean… It’s hard to believe that you were never so awkward with me even if you secretly liked me.” She teased her by pinching his arms.

“YA! THAT HURT! Aigo~ You pabo,” he flicked her forehead and smiled victoriously.

“Ooouch~ I didn’t pinch you THAT hard! Ouchhhhh,” she put her hand up to her forehead and snickered.

Both of them paused for a moment. The silence was deafening, but for Chae Yeon and HaHa, it was something that they needed to go back to talking seriously once again.

“So,” HaHa scratched the back of his head, “does this change anything?”

Chae Yeon looked up and asked, “What changes everything?”

HaHa sneered, “You know, this. This whole confession of how much I like you and stuff. I mean, you won’t avoid me, right?”“Aigo. Oppa! That’s so high school! Of course I won’t!”

Relieved, HaHa sat back into his chair, “Good. Because I can always get used to the fact that you and Tei are together, even if he is my best friend. At least I still get to see you. But if you ever start avoiding me because of this… Aish,” HaHa shook his head, “that’s going to be so hard for me. I won’t know what to do if you’d never talk to me again.”

Chae Yeon smiled and held his hand encouragingly. “Don’t worry. Nothing’s going to change between us, HaHa. You’re still the oppa that I’ve learned to adore and get used to against my will.”

“Yah!” HaHa snapped.

Chae Yeon giggled. “I’m just kidding. I’ve always loved being around you because you were so much fun to be with. I was always laughing with you. But–“

“But what?” HaHa looked up.

Chae Yeon bit her lower lip (a habit she learned from Seul Gi) and sighed (a habit she learned from Tei). “You know the answer…”

The both of them looked at their joint hands. Hers was on his hands. There was nothing awkward about it. For minutes, they just sat rooted to their seats, until HaHa finally spoke.

“Frankly, I don’t really know what I could do if I hadn’t met someone like you Chae Yeon. You’re the reason why I laugh the way I laugh. Look the way I look. Love the way I love.”

Chae Yeon felt something tugging on to her heart. Her heart had started to beat rapidly, not because she was giddy inside, but because of the fact that she knew what he was going to say. Apparently, she always did know. Afraid of hurting a good friend, she felt something stingy in her eye.

“I’ll always like you… That’s never going to change. You’re always going to be somebody I look back to and remember in my future relationships.”

A tear fell. “Why are you telling me this now, HaHa?”

HaHa, noticing that Chae Yeon had started crying, let go of her hand to take out a handkerchief in his pocket. He gave it to her, and got back to holding her hand. “You’ve always known I liked you. Would it really matter if I told you last week? Last month? Tomorrow?” He held her face and wiped a tear.

“I’m sorry…”

“Don’t say sorry. You didn’t do anything.”

Chae Yeon whispered. “But–“

“If you did do anything, you showed me how it is to be in love. How it is to be happy, Chae Yeon-ah.”

Chae Yeon looked at him intently in the eyes and could only think of one thing: Tei. She loved Tei. And to hear HaHa confessing to her breaks her heart. She was going to hurt HaHa. She had to reject him.

But before she could speak, HaHa continued.

“I know in my heart that you love Tei, Chae Yeon-ah. And I couldn’t be happier. What good is it to me if I tried to force you to love me? That certainly won’t make me happy now, won’t it?”

Chae Yeon sighed to herself in relief and sniffed.

“Chae Yeon, I’m happy for you,” he said, giving her a reassuring smile. “When I saw Tei confess on national TV and in front of the hundreds of viewers, I told myself how I could’ve never done anything like that. Because to be honest, I’m not as courageous as Tei is. He loves you, he really does. And if I know myself that I’m not any better than he is, then I’m willing to let go. I’m willing to step aside and–WOAH.“

Before HaHa could finish his sentence, Chae Yeon stood up and went to him, giving him a big, tight hug. She bent her head and leaned on his left shoulder, mumbling words that HaHa could not understand.

At first, HaHa did not move and just had his arms in the air. After a few moments, he smiled, hugged her back and spoke, “What’s this for?”

Chae Yeon hugged him tighter as she felt a smile on her face amidst the tears. “For everything.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Where IS everybody?!” a PD frantically shouted, throwing things in the air.

Another PD came up to him and squealed, “Aigo~ The show’s about to restart in an hour!”
As they were rummaging through the closets of the dressing rooms, looking for Tei and the others (as if it were possible that they could’ve hidden there), Kim Jong Kook went in the room and held the shoulder of one PD.

“What are you doing?”

The PD, shocked to find the assistant director so calm and collected, shrugged off his hand and spoke, “I’m looking for Tei! And Chae Yeon! And HaHa! And Seul Gi! And that new kid!”

“New kid? Seung Gi? And you’re looking for them in… A closet drawer?” Jong Kook laughed.

The PD, shocked, retorted back, “Well I suppose yooouu know where they are, huh?”

“I don’t. But there will be no need to look for them. We’re going to cancel recording today. You guys go home and rest. Tei and the others must be tired today. We’ll continue recording tomorrow, araso?”

And at that, the PDs stomped out, leaving a smiling Jong Kook in the room. As he was about to sit down, he heard an all too familiar voice calling out to him.

“Uhm… Hyung?”

Chapter 15

A/N GUESS WHO'S BACK.

ohohoho ME ME ME ! *flails arms in air* lol
okay anyway. i'm terribly sorry for the late update (_ _)
school has been gay, not to mention that i was pretty sick. so anyway, enough about me. PERSONAL REPLIES.
Chinh Muahaha, yes! Seung Gi does like her ^^ I've been waiting to write about this as well. Hehe. Hope you like the update ^^ Thanks for reading~

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!” Tei screamed and pointed to Chae Yeon’s direction.

He rushed to her and gave her a hug. “Where have you been? I was so worried!”

Chae Yeon couldn’t help but get butterflies in her stomach when she realized that Tei had been worried for her. “Oppa, I was just with –“

“YAAAAAA! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!” Tei suddenly screamed and stepped back. Chae Yeon looked at where Tei was pointing, and she noticed that he was pointing to her hands and her clothes. “Why do you have blood all over you?!”

“Oppa, don’t exaggerate too much. It’s only on my hands and clothes. And don’t worry, it’s not my blood. I was just with–MFFFHMP“

And, as always, even before Chae Yeon could finish her sentence, Tei hugged her again, tightly this time, and cooed Chae Yeon with sweet words. “My poor baby, who did this to you? Don’t worry. I’ll never let you out of my sight ever again!” He let go of her and held both sides of her arms, looking intently in her eyes, “Hear that? NEVER AGAIN!”

Chae Yeon giggled at Tei, obviously laughing from him being too protective. But what could she expect? He was her boyfriend - unofficially.

“Uhm, Chae Yeon-ah, you’re supposed to be crying. You have a bloody hand, and you’re supposed to be in pain. And I should be tending to your every word, being the good boyfriend that I should be.”

“Oppa. Let me explain! You’re so,” she flicked his forehead, “stupid,” and gave him a quick peck to the lips. She could swear she saw him blush. “I was with Seung Gi, okay? He broke something and he hurt himself so I brought him to my room to fix him up.”

“Oh? The guard said that you were at the dock?”

“No, no, we weren’t. We were just…”

Tei put up his hand and stopped her mid-way. “Doesn’t matter. I’m just glad that you’re safe. Here,” he handed her his handkerchief.

“Thanks.” Chae Yeon kissed Tei’s cheek and had him stand there rooted on his spot, with his right hand on the cheek she had kissed. She then started to wipe away the blood on her hands. Tei started to help her by wiping her face, which was sweaty, with faint traces of blood on the forehead. With his thumb, he put her bangs to the side and smiled at her lovingly.

“You look lovely,” Tei muttered under his breath.

“Even if I’m haggard and bloody all over?” Chae Yeon kidded.

“Even if you’re haggard and bloody all over.” Tei Yeon smiled.

“That’s good to hear.”

Both Chae Yeon and Tei looked back to see HaHa and Seul Gi leaning on the door to Chae Yeon’s room.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

- SEUNG GI’S POV -

Does it have something to do with Ayumi?
Maybe so.
Do you remember her?
Of course I do.
Do you miss her?
Who doesn’t?
Do you wanna be with her again, Seung Gi?
I…. I d-…
Tell me. I’m here to listen.
Listen? Is that all you’re ever gonna be able to do nuna? Listen?
Do you wanna be with her again, Seung Gi?
. . . .

For all the wrong reasons, I think I can finally say no to that.

I sigh in frustration as an X-Man PD, whom I did not know since I was new, removed the handkerchief that Chae Yeon nuna put around my hand. “This might hurt a little bit,” he said, while placing alcohol on my open wounds.

Hm. Mister, after Ayumi’s accident, I think nothing at this level can hurt me. Wash away, please. Just wash it all away.

I held on to the handkerchief that Chae Yeon nuna used. I looked down on it and muttered words to myself. How stupid I was for breaking the glass in my hand (very stupid). How stupid I was for fighting with my nuna (nothing close to being a genius). How stupid I was to hug nuna (brilliant, yeah). And how insanely stupid I was for telling her that I liked her.

“You know…” The PD had started talking, bandaging my hand. “I don’t see why you kids like Chae Yeon.” At that moment, I had stopped insulting myself in my mind and looked at the PD. “I mean, she has an attitude of an ice princess sometimes, and she–“

“I don’t like her,” I lied; embarrassed that he knew of my little crush on Chae Yeon.

He smiled and pat my hand. “I’m sure you don’t.” He got another bandage and had started wiping my other hand, when I had jerked it away, “I really don’t!”

He threw his head back and laughed, as if what I said were the funniest thing a man could hear. “Don’t worry. I used to like her too.”

“Used to?”

“Hmm,” he nodded his head and put the finishing touches on my hand, “Used to. Okay. You’re all set. Just a little note while you’re still sane for the moment… Don’t go breaking anymore glasses, okay? You’re a good looking kid. You should be breaking hearts, eh?” He winked.

As he stood up to walk towards the door, I caught a glimpse of his ID hanging by his neck.

Kim Jong Kook
Assistant director

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Tei.”

“Yes, Seul Gi?”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Chae Yeon-ah?”

Silence.

“Chae Yeon-ah??!”

“What do you want, HaHa?”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Uhm…”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Obviously your attention!”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Is something wrong, Seul Gi-ah?”

-SEUL GI’S POV-
Tei oppa. Omona. Please don’t call me like that.

Seul Gi-ah.

Just the mere thought of it makes me fall weak on my knees.

Is there something wrong?
Of course there’s something wrong.

Here’s the picture. My best friend is Chae Yeon. I like you. You are her boyfriend. Therefore I like my best friend’s boyfriend. Of course there is something wrong with that picture, Tei oppa, you pabo! Unless… You wouldn’t mind if I dated you, which will definitely make me the happiest girl in the planet.

But that’s just selfish. And I can never do that to Chae Yeon.

You are her life.
I’m her best friend.

You are my life.
You always have been.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
-HAHA’S POV-

“Why don’t you just listen?!”

“Well, apart from the fact that, ONCE AGAIN, you cut off any moment between me and Tei oppa, I don’t know. Maybe because I don’t WANT to listen.”

“What if you tried, Chae Yeon ah? It’s not like I’m going to say something that’s going to haunt you for the rest of your life! It’s not like I’m going to confess something that I like you or that I was secretly in love with you or –what the heck did I just say that out loud– or… or…. Uhm, something like that?!!!”

“What did you say?”

Did she hear? “I thought you weren’t listening?”

“Listening is different from hearing. Please repeat what you said,” she asked.

“I… I… I,”

“It’s okay. I heard you the first time anyway.” Chae Yeon shrugged, and left it at that. “You know, if you wanted to talk to me, could you pick an appropriate time when I’m not with my boyfriend?”

She had emphasized on that last word – boyfriend. Like an arrow shot through my heart. Ouch. That really stung.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Seung Gi sat down on the floor.

“What happened?”He looked up and saw the security guard talking to him.

“Oh nothing, I just uhm… Became stupid for a moment and broke glass with my bare hands.”

“Hah. Funny how you put it that way. I wouldn’t call that stupid,” the guard replied.

Seung Gi, confused, looked up and asked, “What?”

The security guard smiled and said, “I’ve seen how you look at her. You’re in love, boy.”

As shocked as he was, Seung Gi became silent, looked down, and felt a smile creep up to his face. He looked at his hand and sighed. It didn’t hurt so much anymore.

Monday

Chapter 14

A/N: So, it has been a while since I last updated. I'm terribly sorry. *sweatsprofusely* I've been caught up with a lot of performances and stuff, and I ran out of pre-written chapters, hehe. I've been writing these stories in Starbucks, coffeeshops or donut shops so I'm sorry if these aren't all that great, but I think I've enjoyed writing them in coffee shops. Plus, I got to meet a lot of koreans in those coffee shops who talk to me so I'm pretty thrilled. Hehe. OKAY. Enough of me ranting. Personal replies, then update~! Enjoy ^^
Karen you're welcome, and thank you as well ^^ the performance went great! if i had the guts, i'd put up the video here for you guys to watch. hehe. ^^
Chinh here's the update ;) i hope you like it ^^

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“What was that??” Chae Yeon screamed. She looked to her left and saw Seung Gi sitting down on the floor.

A PD then came up to her and whispered, “We just saw him sitting on the floor, with the glass broken, and he has a wound in his hand.” The PD pointed at Seung Gi, who was looking down, sitting awkwardly on the floor, holding on to his right palm, which was bloody all over.

As soon as Chae Yeon saw this, she ran to Seung Gi and nervously wiped his bloody hands with her clothes. She bent down and got his hand, used her shirt then wrapped his wounds with her handkerchief.

“Nuna, what are you doing? Don’t use your clothes to wipe my –ouch! Not too hard~ Aigo, it hurts!” Seung Gi wailed.

“Why don’t you try to hold still?” Chae Yeon screamed. He bit his bottom lip and looked away. She tied her handkerchief around his hand then gave it a little pat.

Seung Gi flinched when she did. When Chae Yeon looked at him, she saw a little tear at the sides of Seung Gi’s eyes. She chuckled and wiped away his tear with her thumb, “You little kid,” she smirked.

“It hurts…” Seung Gi tried to lift his swollen arm. “… A lot.”

“It looks like it does. Why’d you break the glass in you palm anyway if you knew it would hurt?”

“It’s not the bruises that hurt, nuna…”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tei looked for Chae Yeon all over the building, but he couldn’t find her. He tried going to her room, but it was locked. He tried going to the rooftop where she usually stayed, but she wasn’t there either. He also tried to look for Seung Gi, but he was yet to be seen as well.

“That’s strange…” Tei muttered to himself. “Where the heck did those two go to?”

As he tried to look under tables, in cabinets, and under the covers (not that it was humanly possible to even hide under those circumstances), it dawned on him that maybe they were in the dock.

He asked the guard at the gate outside if he had seen either Chae Yeon or Seung Gi go out of the building and (un)fortunately, he had. The guard said that he saw them go to that direction, and he then pointed – the direction going to the dock.

“Thank you,” Tei bowed, “And please tell HaHa, if he ever comes looking for me, I’m at… uhm, McDonalds, or wherever.” He bid the confused guard goodbye and walked towards the dock.

Tei smirked and looked up the sky, “Chae Yeon-ah… What are you up to this time?”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“You like him?!” HaHa shouted, and placed one hand on his face, “Omona!”

Seul Gi grumbled under her breath. “I told you not to say it out loud!”, and slapped HaHa on his arms.

“Sorry, sorry. Anyway. Wow. That’s so tragic. I like Chae Yeon… and you like Tei. How cute. We should totally end up being together!” HaHa then brought his arms to Seul Gi, motioning for a hug.

“You do realize that you used ‘totally’ in a sentence?” Seul Gi asked, then ran away to avoid his hug.

“Yeah… Now that I think about it, that sort of felt… erhm, weird. Anyway, where’s my hug Seung-Gi yahh~”

“Hearing it is weird enough.” Seul Gi retorted.

“Anyway, that’s not the point. I can’t believe that you like Tei!”

“What’s so hard to believe? I mean… Who wouldn’t like someone like him?” She then sighed and bent her head down. “That’s why I know how you feel when you looked at Chae Yeon when she was with Tei in that room… I know how it’s like when you see someone you’ve liked for so long in the arms of someone else…”

“Yeah… And what sucks more is the fact that that someone else is a good friend of yours…”

“Yeah…” she sighed.

“Yeah…”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Chae Yeon had her hands on her hips. Her voice was raised and her eyebrows met. “What did you do to your hand? What happened? Why’d you just walk out like that?? You got me so worried–”

“I like you…”

“ –I couldn’t think straight. I know that face! Your look when you came out made me so worried that I had to leave Tei –“

“I like you…”

“ –just to look for you! Aigo. Can you imagine how I felt when I heard that shout and the glass breaking?! You little boy! Don’t you go running away like that aga–“

“Nuna. Please. Can you not do this??” Seung Gi had his head bent down, but put his hand up to signalhis nuna to stop.

“You stupid pabo! I’m here all caring for you and being all nice and this is the thanks I get??”

Seung Gi was irritated, so he ran his injured hand through his hair. The blood mixed with the sweat in his hair, giving it a very messy look. He flinched in pain and the instant he ran his hands through his hair, he lashed it back and held it to soothe the pain.

“Hey! Be careful with that hand! What the heck! You shouldn’t be moving it too much, it might hurt and–“

“Why?! Whyyyy do you even caree??!” Seung Gi shouted.

“Because I just do! Isn’t that enough for you to appreciate what I’m doing to make you feel better??”

“Do you think that your screaming will make me feel better?!”

“You inconsiderate boy! Aren’t you gonna thank me for taking care of your stupid hand??”

“Th –than…”

“No! Don’t say thank you! Because it wouldn’t mean anything! I want you to say thank you when you mean it! You st–!”

Chae Yeon stopped midway in her sentence because as she was about to scream at Seung Gi, he thrust himself towards Chae Yeon, held her face…

But stopped. He froze for a moment, almost as if he was thinking of something. But at the end, he just drew his arms around her and gave her a tight hug.

His sobs and whimpers were enough to make Chae Yeon’s anger subside. He cried like a baby. His shoulders were fidgeting, and he was stomping on the ground continuously. Chae Yeon could feel his tears on her shoulder through her blouse, so she hugged him back and pat his head. She cooed her gently, “Ssh… Stop.”

Seung Gi sniffed, but only tightened their hug more. It seemed like he had to hug someone.

“Seung Gi-ah… Stop. C’mon. I’m sorry if I had to scream at you. I was just worried…”

Chae Yeon then felt Seung Gi nod his head. “I just want to know why’d you walk out like that… Did it have something to do with Ayumi?” Chae Yeon wanted to break their hug, but Seung Gi’s grip was tight. She fidgeted out and luckily, she was able to. “Did you remember her? When you saw me and Tei together? Do you miss her?”

- SEUNG GI’S POV: HIS THOUGHTS -
My stupid nuna… Aigo. You cute little pabo. Didn’t you hear me a while ago?

Oh… I’m sure you didn’t. But it’s okay, because you were screaming at me. I was saying I like you… I even said it two times. But you didn’t hear it.

I’m sure that you care for me as a dongsaeng only… And I know I can never be an oppa to you. It’s obvious that you’re older than me, so being an oppa to you can never happen, even if both of us wanted it.

I was walking back to my dressing room when I saw the door to your room slightly opened. I am a good boy, and I never eavesdrop on other people’s conversations. But I just had to listen to yours…

“When – When did you like me?” was the question that you asked Tei in that room. I wanted to make myself believe that it wasn’t true… That you didn’t have eyes for anyone…

So at least…

I could stand a chance…

With you...

MY heart stopped when I saw you and Tei holding hands… It’s not that I remembered Ayumi when I saw you and Tei hyung together. What was weird that Ayumi didn’t even cross my mind at that moment. What I did remember though was… us… together at the dock.

I didn’t like it when you were holdings hands with him. It’s not that I’m selfish… or that I was jealous… But… I just don’t know how to describe it.

My stupid little nuna. Your stupid little dongsaeng is going crazy again.

-CHAE YEON’S POINT OF VIEW-

As soon as he came out that door, I screamed a mental “What-the-hell-did-he-mean-by-that-smile?” in my head, before finally telling myself to come running after him to ask what was wrong.

I let go of Tei’s hand as soon as the door closed to chase after Seung Gi, but got pulled in.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Tei asked, smirking.

I was about to pinch his cheeks because he looked so cute when I realized that I still had to find out why Seung Gi went out the door, so I said, “Going to Seung Gi.”

Tei looked confused, “Hey. I just officially asked you to be mine, and now you’re running off looking for other boys? Ouch, Chae Yeon,” he pointed to his chest, “Ouch,” sarcastically.

HaHa and Seul Gi weren’t any different. They had looks on their faces that read “What-the?” and “Where-do-you-think-you’re-going?” respectively.

Not able to hold their confused looks any longer, I gave out a sigh and said, “Okay. Here’s the deal. I was at the dock and I was talking to him because he was depressed. Long story short, I don’t want to see someone I care for getting hurt. I saw his face when he walked out… I think he’s hurt.”

Happy that I explained the situation, I was waiting for Tei to let go of my hand for me to talk to my Seung Gi when I felt him hold on my hand tighter. Smiling, Tei asked, “You care for him?”

... Long story short, I don’t want to see someone I care for getting hurt. I saw his face when he walked out on us…

“Care for him as a friend kind of thing. Come on oppa, I’m not that stupid to replace you for anybody else,” I replied. I knew that it would make him happy, and stop him with all the questioning, and fortunately, it did. He gave me a nod and a quick kiss which gave me butterflies all over, making my knees fall weak again.

I bid him goodbye, and HaHa and Seul Gi as well, before finally going out to look for Seung Gi.

It was true that I had wanted to cheer him up because he was a friend. Of course, that’s what friends do, right? But I think there’s something more to what I’m doing. I mean… because… that look. When I saw Seung Gi smile weakly when he saw me holding hands with Tei, I felt my heart stop. It made it look like holding hands with Tei was a bad thing! But it wasn’t… Of course it wasn’t! What made things worse was when he walked out. I didn’t want to see him like that. It sort of dawned on me that maybe it reminded him of Ayumi or something. I didn’t want to see him cry again. So I brought it upon myself to look for him and comfort him, being the good nuna that I was... or so I wanted to believe.

I looked from left to right, hoping to catch a glimpse of him but to no avail. I asked some PDs if they saw him, but they hadn’t. They did tell me, though, that the recording for the show is cancelled for some ‘reasons’ they didn’t want to tell. Right… Like it wasn’t obvious. Anyway, I continued to walk around the building to look for Seung Gi when suddenly, I heard glass break, and a shout.

-TEI’S POV-

“What was that for?!”

“What was what for?” I smirked.

HaHa was obviously pissed by my smirking, which made me laugh even more.

“What the?! Don’t you dare what-was-what-for me! You know what I’m talking about!”

“Hyung, I really don’t!” I really didn’t.

HaHa pursed his lips in a pout and made smoochy noises. “Now do you remember?”

“Oh… That.” I scratched the back of my head in embarrassment and happiness when I finally understood what he was trying to say. “That was nothing. Don’t get all grandma on me, HaHa.”

“Go grandma?! You think I’m going grandma?! You pabo~! We were recording a show! What gave you the right to do something as daring and bold as that?!” He screamed, with his hands flailing in the air.

“Love, hyung. Love,” and I pointed to my chest. It was the best comeback I could think of to make him shut up, but it felt so cheesy, that I snickered after saying it.

“Don’t you love-love me, you pabo. Can’t you see that I like Ch- I mean… I didn’t like what you did! You pabo,” he said, obviously rubbing in the fact that I did disrupt the X-Man schedule. “And stop laughing! You’re freaking making me lose my head again!”

He looked so pissed. What’s funny was that it was rare for people to see HaHa get pissed off so for me to see this was quite entertaining, and I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw him turn around and start talking to the air. I laughed at my friend’s antics.

Without him knowing, when he turned back around to face me, still having one arm in the air, I gave him a high five and pat his shoulder, “If this is your way of showing your blessings for me and Chae Yeon, thank you, HaHa. Thank you.”

I gave him another pat at the back before finally walking away to look for Seul Gi and Chae Yeon.

-END OF TEI’S POV-

-HAHA’S POV-

“Ouch,” I heard.

I looked back and saw Seul Gi with one hand on her heart, and the other one touching her face, making it look like she was crying, but it was obvious that she was just fooling around. “Didn’t that hurt? I told you to forget about Chae Yeon.”

“Nothing can make me forget about Chae Yeon. I’ve liked her for so long that it’s going to be a waste if I don’t continue courting her,” I explained.

Seul Gi gave out an exasperated sigh before talking, “Isn’t it making it look like you’re courting her just for the sake of courting her? I mean, think about it. From what I see, you’re just courting her because… I don’t know – just because. Then IF you do end up being together, and that’s a big IF, then what happens? You get your wish of finally being with her, but do you really love her, HaHa? Do you? That hug in New Year’s didn’t mean anything, as harsh as it may sound. She hugged everybody in there, and I did too. I hugged everybody like she did! So why didn’t you fall for me? But you really don’t have to answer that. I just said that to explain things. Anyway, she hugged this one PD. I heard that the PD fell for her too, but then he got rejected, but he moved on. See, oppa? Move on. Things are easier that way.”

“But Seul Gi, I –”

She held her hands up to my face signalling me to keep quiet. "Shush," she said. Great. She wasn’t finished talking yet.

“I’m not saying that you should stop liking her, because who am I to tell you to? And if I DID tell you, I’m sure that you wouldn’t listen anyway. It’ll be harder for you to forget about her if you don’t stop this. People are always like that,” she said. I nodded my head in agreement. “But you shouldn’t be one of those people, HaHa. Move on.”

“So are you saying that I should be an alien instead?” I replied jokingly.

“That wasn’t really funny, you know?” Seul Gi chuckled.

“Then why are you chuckling?” I asked.

“Aish, fine,” she wailed, and put on a straight and serious face. “That wasn’t really funny, you know?” she repeated, “There, you happy now? I made my face all serious now.”

“Happy? Aigo. I am nowhere near happiness, Seul Gi. Not with Chae Yeon running after and drooling over my best friend…”

“Wow. That was a good line! You’ve been practicing, oppa. Nice,” she clapped her hands in exciting gestures.

“That’s not a line, pabo. That’s really how I feel!” I explained, thumping my hands to my chest.

“Hurts, right?”

“What? Thumping my chest? The hell. Of course not, I always thump my chest. It’s like a manly thing, you know.”

“Pabo. Not the thumping! Chae Yeon and Tei together, stupid.”

“Oh…” I heaved a sigh. “Yeah… It does.”

“Yeah… Seems like it.”

“Why’d you ask?”

“Because I know how it feels, HaHa. I know.”

“What was that for?!”

“What was what for?” Tei smirked.

She stuttered and sat back. “Th – That.. Uhm…”

“What? I can’t hear you Chae Yeon-ah~,” he said in a sing-song voice, and cupped his hand in one ear, pretending not to hear.

“Aigo~ Don’t pretend you don’t know oppa!” and punched Tei lightly while he sat down. He pulled her closely to his side on the couch. Tei laughed and hugged her head tightly.

“Don’t you realize that you look so cute this way?” Tei spoke, with his eyes clothes, arms around Chae Yeon's head.

Chae Yeon tried to wiggle her way out of Tei’s grasp, but failed. She couldn’t breathe in his embrace, but somehow, she didn’t mind it at all. It sort of felt… good, actually. To be held by a big man with big arms and a muscular body.

“Mmfh.”

“Hmm?” Tei asked, who still had his eyes closed.

“Mmfh – Bmpffh.”

“Oh, sorry,” Tei quickly jerked back, realizing how awkward their position was. “Sorry. You should’ve told me that you weren’t really comfortable with me hugging you that way,” and scratched the back of his head.

“Why did you do it?” she quickly asked as soon as he let go. “Why did you – do you… really like me?”

“Do you want me to kiss you again to make you realize that I do?” Tei had already pursed his lips in a playful pout to wait for a kiss but all that he got was a slight slap to the cheek. He laughed and hugged her again, only this time, lower and looser to give her enough space to breathe.

“Tei?” Chae Yeon looked up.

“Hmm?”

“Since when?”

“Since when what?” He looked at her questioningly.

“Since when did you like me?” Chae Yeon curiously asked.

Tei held her hands and smiled, “Since I felt that you liked me too.”

Chae Yeon blushed.

“Chae Yeon-ah. The way you look at me… It’s obvious that you do. I might be sounding like a complete jerk for telling this even if I don’t have any proof or whatever but I really do feel that you like me! That’s partly the reason why I liked you in the first place! When you look at me, you have the best smile on your face… Always. Almost as if you were always happy to see me. It made me feel so good, Chae Yeon-ah… To know that I was making you happy? Aish. That’s the best feeling in the world. I feel so giddy and happy inside! Do you understand that?! I am so happy to see you like that. Please don’t break my heart. Do you…” he paused, caught his breathe and continued, “do… do you like me enough to be... My… Uhm, mine?” and pointed to his heart. It was cheesy, but it worked.

Chae Yeon blushed yet again. She looked at his hand which was holding on to hers. She blissfully sighed and locked both their hands together with intertwining fingers. She held up their hands and showed it to his face, “Oppa,” she pointed to their joint fingers,

“I’m already yours.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“What are you doing here?”

“Might I ask the same with you, hyung?” Seung Gi asked HaHa.

“I was just... getting coffee! And you?”

Seung Gi glanced to his side before looking back at HaHa once again. “I was just, uhm… Getting pancakes.”

“Meh. Seung Gi-yah, you do know that they don’t sell pancakes in here, right? Were you spying on Tei and Chae Yeon too? I MEAN… Were you spying on someone? Unlike me, who was just happening to pass by and not spying? Aigo, dongsaeng. Of all people? Tsk.”

Seung Gi scratched the back of his head and gave out an embarrassing sigh. “Yeah… Right. No pancakes, I knew that, I meant I was just –“

“Watching Tei and Chae Yeon? Spit it out, you two. Both of you so like my best friend.” Unknowingly, Seul Gi came in the room where Seung Gi and HaHa were hiding to hear what Tei and Chae Yeon were talking about in the room next to theirs. The X-Man producers decided to have a break after Tei’s ‘confession’ so Tei and Chae Yeon decided to go to a room talk things over.

“ANIYO!” Both shouted out.

“HaHa, it’s already known by everyone here that you like her, so no use in hiding it,” Seul Gi slapped his arm and laughed profusely. “While you,” she pointed at Seung Gi with her pointy finger, stopped laughing and asked, “Where did you take my Chae Yeon, huh? What took you guys so long a while ago?? She told me that she brought you to the dock! Yah, this boy. Don't you know that she was stressed?! I sent her there to think things over so what were you doing with her?” Seul Gi raised her left eyebrow and put her hands on her waist.

HaHa grew red at the thought that… *gulp* everybody knew that he liked Chae Yeon? He tugged on Seul Gi’s dress and pouted before asking, “Eh, Seul Gi-ah... Does Chae Yeon know that I –“

“Yes, she does. Now be quiet. I asked Seung Gi a question,” Seul Gi glared. “Dongsaeng, where’d you guys go?”

HaHa, not knowing that Seung Gi took Chae Yeon somewhere, forgot the fact that he himself had a question to Seul Gi, and just joined in with Seul Gi. “OHOHOHO~ You guys went somewhere?! Where?!” HaHa glared.

“She just brought me to the dock, hyung. We just talked because I was kind of depressed and all and I just needed someone to talk to. I am sorry for taking so much time with her.”

“Meh. Depressed? Riiight… Is that a new way to score girls now?! AIGOOOO~OUCH! What the heck?! What’d you punch me for?!” HaHa asked, holding on to his swollen arm.

“That is the worst punch line you can possibly pull in an even possibly worse situation. Be quiet. Can’t you see that the boy is depressed already? Oh, Seung Gi. I'm so sorry I sort of threw a fit at you like that. Mianhe, dongsaeng. By the way, pay no heed to HaHa. He’s just jealous that he hasn’t been on a date with Chae Yeon ever since, while you already went with her to the dock, even if you guys just met.” Seul Gi laughed at the thought and stuck out her tongue to her oppa.

HaHa cringed and rolled his eyes, “Well, thank you for making me remember, Seul Gi. Really.”

“You’re welcome. I just don’t get the point why you still try to court her. She already said –“

“That she doesn’t want our friendship to be ruined, and that it will cost her very much if she gave up our friendship for a relationship, not knowing what the end might be. She thinks that a relationship might not last forever, and we might break up and never talk to each other ever again and she is not willing to risk losing this friendship for anything,” Seul Gi and HaHa said in a chorus.

“Wow,” Seul Gi remarked, “You memorized it?”

“Every word," Haha sighed. "I mean, who wouldn’t?”

“I wouldn’t, because it’s just going to hurt me whenever I remember that she did say that,” Seung Gi remarked.

HaHa gave him a blunt fce and spoke. “Uh, I think we just established the fact that I am hurt and mourning ever since she did tell me that, so please do not make me remember, Seung Gi yah. Really.”

“Oh. Mian.”

“I’m already yours.”

All three looked at each other, with eyes wide open, and mouths agape.

HaHa: “Did you hear that?”

Seung Gi: “Did you hear that??”

Seul Gi: “You too??”

All three: “Was that Chae Yeon??!”

As soon as they said that last line, all three ran to the door that shared their room and the other room. They opened it, only to see Chae Yeon holding hands with Tei, not that there was any problem with that though. They were already ‘officially’ a couple because of Tei's confession, so it shouldn’t be a problem if they were holding hands.

Chae Yeon, surprised, jumped back and fell down on her butt.

“Ohh… My butt.”

“Pabo,” Tei bent down, flicked her forehead and rubbed his nose with hers. “Be careful next time.”

“Y-yeah. Uh, oppa. HaHa, Seung Gi, and Seul Gi are here,” Chae Yeon said, still on the floor.

Tei looked back, smirked, and gave her a quick peck on the lips. “Yeah… I know,” he smiled and gazed into her eyes.

“OMIGOSHOMIGOSHOMIGHOSHI'MHYPERVENTELATINGWHATTHEHELLDIDYOUGUYSJUSTDOOMYGOSHMYHEARTISOMIGOSH!” Seul Gi screamed, fanning her face with her hands. “I’m so happy for you Chae Yeon ah! C’mon! Get up! I need to give you a big girl hug!”

“Baa. Disgusting, Tei,” HaHa remarked. Tei arched his eyebrow at HaHa, who only looked aside to avoid his glance.

“Nuna…” Seung Gi spoke. Everyone looked at him.

"I’m so happy for you.”

Seung Gi then gave a faint smile to her before finally walking away, closing the door behind him.

Chae Yeon and Seung Gi had a very long walk home. And by long, it just meant that they were so awkward that the supposedly minutes to walk back to the studio somehow turned into hours. Why was it even awkward, anyway? Both asked themselves. We just talked at the beach and the dock. There wasn’t anything special. No hugs. No kisses…

Ohohoho! Definitely no kisses.

“So… Uhm. Kamsahamnida, nuna. For taking me there. It really did make me feel a lot better.”

Chae Yeon got his hand and gave it a light pat. It gave him a tingling feeling, which made his knees shake for some reason. “You’re welcome. This is where Tei and I usually stay whenever we just need to rest… Just to relax, you know.”

“You and hyung have been spending a lot of time with each other? Haven’t you?” Seung Gi asked curiously, and out of topic.

She sighed. “Ne.”

The way she answered, it was as if she wasn’t happy with it. “What’s wrong?” Seung Gi asked, bending his head to the side.

Chae Yeon tilt his head to the side as well, and asked. “What do you mean what’s wrong?”

“Well, obviously. From the way you answered, it seems like you’re not really that happy with Tei hyung.”

“I am… It’s just that–“

“It’s just what?”

“I don’t know. Ya! I’m happy, okay?” and shrugged him off, wishing to change the topic.

“Heh. It really doesn’t sound that believable.”

“Look. I don’t have to have your permission, your consent, your approvable or whatever to prove that I am happy with Tei. He’s a nice guy. I like him. And I’m pretty sure he feels the same way. Now can you please just stop? I just met you, and you’re already sounding like you’ve known me for so long. You’re not making me feel any better.”

“…”

“…..”

“You sound pissed.”

“Yeah. I am,” she muttered under her breathe.

“Mianhe, I’m sorry. It wasn’t meant to come out as something to piss you off,” Seung Gi said, sincerely apologizing for what he said.

“Araso. Just try not to ask too many questions, okay? Especially when it comes to a girl’s feelings,” Chae Yeon remarked. “You really need to learn a lot about girls.”

“Ne, I know, right? I’m the worst boy in the world,” saying it as a joke to her, and to himself. He was pouting from the fact that it was actually half true. Seung Gi was not as a romantic or as cool as he looked.

“Yeah. You are the worst.”

“Well thanks for lifting my spirits, nuna. Really,” he said, lifting his eyebrow in a sarcastic tone.

She winked at him and replied, “You’re welcome.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The X-Man show went by so fast. They announced that Tei was leaving for the army. A lot of people were shocked; they didn’t expect him to leave so early for the army. Some fan girls screamed. Some wailed, while the others looked for Chae Yeon’s reaction. If she was to cry or show any emotion of sadness, then it confirms it: Chae Yeon and Tei ARE an item.

Well lucky for the audience. In the corner, the camera got a glimpse of Chae Yeon shedding a tear. Tei, seeing it, swung his arm around her and motioned for her to stop – “It’s okay. Two years will fly by quickly. It will be alright.” He lifted strands of her hair and placed them at the back of her ear, and cupped her face. “Don’t cry,” he whispered under his breath.

“Tei…” she looked up and a tear fell onto her cheek.

“Chae Yeon, ah. Don’t be so sad.”

“How can I not be sad, Tei, if I know that you’re leaving soon?!”

“… I’m sorry.”

“It’s not going to do anything, Tei. You’re leaving.” She lightly pushed him away. He looked down, ashamed.

He paused for a moment, then looked around. They were still filming. Some of the cast were looking at them, motioning to them to stop if they don’t want any scandal. Some of the cast members were still continuing with the show. He looked back at Chae Yeon, who looked at him straight in the eyes, before bowing her head again, her forehead on his chest. What was he to say?

Scandal or no scandal, it didn't matter. “Chae Yeon…” He asked.

“Yes?” she sniffed in between tears, still having her head down.

“Do you like me?”

Chae Yeon stood there in disbelief and jolted back. WELL DUH. If she didn’t, would she be crying in front of a live audience during a live recording of a comedy show? She glared at him.

“Oh.. Right..” Tei looked down disappointed.

“What the? Why are you, uh, sad?" Chae Yeon noticed his expression.

“You don’t?”

“Don’t what?”

“Like me?”

“Butthead. Of course I do.”

“You do?”

“Well, duh.”

“Oh.”

“That is the most romantic way to confess your feelings for someone,” and manage to stifle a laugh amidst the tears. She can see him blushing.

He smirked and replied, “Not really. I know a better way to confess.” He then gave a little laugh.

“Really? How would I –MMPFH!”

Out of nowhere, Tei jerked towards Chae Yeon, held her by the waist, and planted a kiss on her lips. Chae Yeon’s eyes widened in surprise, and so did the eyes of maybe hundreds of those who saw it. It all happened so fast that it looked like it didn’t happen at all.

He broke off the kiss, which took only maybe a second or two, but for Chae Yeon, it seemed to last forever.

“Chae Yeon. I really, really.. Honestly like you."

Both looked at each other intently in the eyes. “I… I d –“

“WOOOO! CHAE YEON!!”
“YOU GO TEI! THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT!”
“Honey! Why can’t you do something as romantic as that?!”
“Do something like what???"
“I want a husband like that! He shows the WHOLE world that he loves me! GO TEIIIII OPPA~ HWAITING~ SARANGHAEEEEEEE~MPFH!!! WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!”
"Well you wanted a husband that kissed you in front of everybody. Why'd you slap me then?! I just kissed you!"
"Gag reflex. Mianhe. OOOHH~ Look honey! Tei oppa is so sweet to Chae Yeon-ahh~"

The audience screamed and whistled. Obviously, they were more excited for what just happened than to actually remember that they were still filming an X-Man episode.

Chae Yeon looked down after the kiss, her cheeks suddenly flushed red.

“I… I don’t know what to say...”

“Chae Yeon…” Tei paused. “Baby,” he smiled and continued, “You don’t have to say anything. I think that surprised look on your face says it all.” He got her nose and pinched it softly.

“Heh. Oppa… You DO realize that we’re still filming X-Man, right?” and bit the lower part of her lip. He just kissed me, she thought.

Tei laughed and looked at the audience, “That makes it even better. Now everyone will know how special you are to me.” He held her hand and tried to bring her up front, in front of everyone. She tried to let go, but Tei tightened his grip even more. She could do nothing but blush profusely.

"Do you trust me, Chae Yeon-ah? Do you trust your oppa?" Tei looked back.

Although it sounded like he was some cheesy middle-aged romantic off a novel, Chae Yeon had to admit. He was the most goodlooking and sweetest middle-aged romantic she ever met. The way he asked.. "...do you trust me..", made her feel all giddy and jumpy inside. The way he looekd at her with those beautiful eyes, ohoho. How it felt so great to be a girl. She giggled and nodded her head.

HaHa, seeing this, could not take it anymore. “TEI. DON’T DO THIS,” his eyes filled with concern… and jealousy. He blocked their way before they could get in front of the cameras… In front of the audience. In front of everybody. “Don’t start a scandal this way! Oh, wait. On second thought, why don’t you try to NOT start a scandal AT ALL?”

Tei paused for a moment, actually thinking it over if he were to continue what he was about to do. “HaHa…” He looked at Chae Yeon and said, “SHE will be worth it.”

Haha watched them walk towards the cameras. He could do nothing but just look at them. He closed his eyes and sighed.

“Yeah… I know.”
