Author's Note

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! :)
I'm back, and I'll be updating often after New Years, which will be a week from now.
I've done some chapters and I'm quite satisfied with the outcomes. Also, I've been writing some one-shots. I might post them up here when I don't have some written chapters left to make up for those shortcomings.

I hope you enjoy the updates that will be coming! I definitely enjoyed writing them for you guys :) Till then~

1. I am terribly sorry for not updating for so long.
2. I am grateful to those who have read, and still read this. It makes me so proud to know that at least some people like how things are going with this.
3. I will not abandon this.

Thank you to the readers. You don't know how happy I am to read your notes in here. :)

-SEUNG GI'S POV-
Have you ever had that moment?

When the world stops, butterflies in your stomach kind of thing? When you feel your cheeks warming up and fuming in a way that you want it?

You know… Those things that happen in every cliché movie or story that people read or watch... That whole, ‘the world stops when you look at her’ kind of thing.

You find yourself smiling when you realize that she looked your way. You try to suppress a giggle, but laugh anyway, no matter how high an octave your voice reaches for a man your age.

You trip on your own two feet when you realize that you can feel her gaze on you… And you’re not even sure if she was looking at you.

I still remember vividly how much I enjoyed moments like those when I was still with Ayumi… when she was still with me. Now that she was gone, I doubted it… doubted myself. I doubted if I still had the capacity and the courage to love someone as much as I did with Ayumi. I know that it was not her fault that she died…

But why did she have to leave me?

And why did she have to do it so dramatically?

Those thoughts ran through my head as I heard Ayumi’s song play in the radio in the coffee shop.

I’ll give all my love to you
In every single way I know how
Even if I’m in another world
Don’t doubt how I’ll do
I’ll give all my love–

“… to you.” I whispered.

I sighed and tried to calm myself down as I remembered how happy I was with Ayumi. I smiled a bit and laughed silently, tapping on the table in front of me. The song kept on playing.

I know that you’re hiding things
But please don’t be scared to come to me
I’ll never ever leave you
Even if it means having to give up on life
I’ll never ever leave you–“

“–even if it means that I have to die…” I croaked. And I sang the lyrics continuously.

Don’t be afraid– “–Cos I’ll be waiting…”
Take my hand– “–I’ll never let go…”
And if it happens– “–That I might not see you anymore…”
Look up and smile– “–and wait. I’ll be coming in a while…”

The song kept on playing like it was the longest song in the world. My vision started to become blurry as my eyes started becoming warmer, slowly filling up with tears at the corners. I whispered the lyrics as if I was talking to her… Like she was just right in front of me, when suddenly, I was cut off.

“Wow. I didn’t know that you were an Ayumi fan.”

I looked up and it was Da Hae. Aish… I’m not a fan… I’m her past boyfr–

“Here’s your order,” she chimed and placed my drink on the table. “We hope you enjoy it thank you for coming and ordering we hope to see you soon and if ever you have comments suggestions or anything you want to say the comment box is just right beside the wall with the many pictures of stars that have come here we have had over a hundred of them as regular customers because in here we only serve the best coffee anybody can possibly ask for we hope you enjoy your stay thank you annyeong.” And she bowed before finally walking away, leaving me slightly baffled by her speech in one breathe.

“Wait!” I held her arm and stopped her in her tracks. “Can you… uhm… sit with me?”

I watched her as she changed her expression from a bored one to a face with eyes that could have gone out of their sockets.

“I mean… Don’t take this wrong though! It’s not like I’m asking you out for a date or whatever…” By that time, her face turned into a frown, “NOT… That, there’s… uhm… anything wrong with that. But… I just… I just need somebody to talk to…” I tried to explain.

She looked back at the counter and I saw her give a ‘can-I-stay-here-for-a-while’ look at the ahjumma at the counter. The ahjumma replied with a smile and a nod, so she sat down in front of me, crossed her legs, and leaned on the table, resting her chin in one hand.

I sipped my drink and…

She was right. It was the best. I smiled to myself and sighed as I drank it merrily.

“See. I told you it was the best,” she snorted and giggled.

“Yeah…” I replied, speechless over the taste. It really was good.

An awkward silence filled the air as I continued drinking, while she was just watching me drink. From time to time, I stole some glances at her, only to find her gaping at me with eyes that looked lovely. She had very pretty eyes, with a color I couldn’t seem to distinguish between blue and brown. Blue-brown? That doesn’t even make sense, no? But it looked like it was blue… and brown.

As if reading my mind, she coughed slightly and said, “They’re blue and brown.” She smiled and rested her arms on the table.

I felt myself blushing at the thought that she caught me. “Heh… Sorry about that.”

“Eh, it’s okay. It’s noticeable anyway. I’ve always had people asking me about it.”

“How’d it happen anyway?” I asked curiously.

“I really don’t know. I’ve had it ever since I was a kid, so it must be a gene thing.”

I bit on my straw as I looked into her eyes once again. She had loads of make-up on, red lipstick with blue eye shadow and her hair was gelled into a neat bun – fit for a coffee shop like this. I don’t really like girls wearing too much make-up on, but her eyes got to the best of me. Nothing seemed fake.

“So…” She whistled, “Why did you want to talk?” Her smile was so genuine, making it look like she knew me even before this first encounter. I sheepishly scratched my head as I didn’t know how to say… actually, WHAT to say.

“It’s about Chae Yeon, huh?” She asked before I could say anything.
“Look… It’s been, what, one day? Yeah… One day since I knew her. Yeah, I see her on TV and stuff, but other than that. I DON’T know her. So why do I find myself –“

“Liking her?” She continued, “Well DUH, Seung Gi-sshi. You’re a guy. It’s normal.”

“Well it isn’t for me!” I said, raising my voice a little which sent her somehow flustered.

“Omo, don’t tell me that you’re ga–“
“Ya! I am NOT gay!! If that’s where you’re going, no!”

She sighed in relief (at least I think she did) and chuckled a sorry before asking me to continue.
“What I meant is that… It’s not like me to like someone so instantly.”

“Well that’s a problem.”

“I know…”

We sat there for a couple of seconds before she answered again, “You know Seung Gi-sshi? I would love to help you out… I really would,” I saw at the corner of my eyes as she started reaching out for my hand, but at the last moment, retreated it back, “But then I don’t know what to say. I’m not really the best person to turn for advice to.” I saw her smile genuinely.

“Th-thanks…”

“And if I did know what to tell you… I don’t know if I will tell. I just don’t want to say things that’ll keep your hopes up. With a girl like Chae Yeon, it’s hard to see those guys that she rejects just out of nowhere. It breaks my heart to see her do those things to those guys.”

I grunted, frustrated with what she’s coming to. “So what are you trying to say? That I’m gonna be played by her? That I’m just going to be dumped all of a sudden?”

“Seung Gi-sshi, I’m not trying to say it. I’m stating the obvious. And Seung Gi… You’re younger than her. Doesn’t that make things a bit harder?”

“So what if I’m younger?!” I suddenly shouted, not noticing that the tone in my voice was somewhere in the lines of anger. I bit my bottom lip and whispered a mian to her. I looked around and saw the ahjumma giving me a glare, so I bowed politely, before sitting down back again.

She shook her head and poked my hands. “So you like her?”

Fiddling with my hands, I grumbled under my breathe. “I suppose so…”

- END OF SEUNG GI’S POV -

* * * *

“So this is how it feels…” Chae Yeon sighed to herself dreamily, tightening on the grip she had.

“Feels to have what, a boyfriend?” Tei teased, tickling her sides which caused her to almost fall off the chair.

“Tei!” She laughed heartily, “Stop it! S-st-stop i-it!” She couldn’t handle the tickling. She felt herself fall on the floor, but still continued laughing and laughing as if the two of them weren’t in a public place.

Tei laughed as he watched her holding on to her stomach, trying to suppress her laughter. He giggled as he noticed how her eyes disappeared and turned into crescents as she roared out loud – HAHAHAHA! Her voice reached such a high note that it made him cringe a little, but he still continued laughing with her.

She wouldn’t stop, she never did. When you made Chae Yeon laugh, it will take a century to make her stop. She would continue laughing, and probably won’t remember what made her laugh in the first place – which will amuse her and will probably laugh at herself for doing so again. It was a never-ending cycle, and Tei knew this. Tei knew her.

“Ya! Get up! Stop embarrassing me in front of these people!” Tei shouted quietly, pointing at the tables in the room.

Chae Yeon looked at him with a ‘what-the-heck’ look and pointed out, “Duh oppa. There aren’t any people in here!” She looked around in the empty room, still giggling on the floor.
“There won’t be any if you stay there laughing like a lunatic. Come here!” He then stood up from his seat and bent down to her level. She was still giggling, but instantly stopped when she felt him kiss him on the forehead. She blushed as he did, but flushed to an even redder color as she was picked up by him bridal style. Tei grunted and teased her as if she was heavy. Chae Yeon jokingly punched her on the chest, until finally leaned in her head to nuzzle in his neck.

Tei sat back on the chair, placing Chae Yeon on his lap. They fixed themselves in a comfortable position, and as they did, Chae Yeon threw her arms around him. Tei responded by putting his arms around her waist, bringing her closer, leaning onto her forehead.

She looked down on his lips and remembered how they were just kissing a moment ago.

Tei looked down on her lips as he recalled how much he enjoyed it.

“Babe…” The both of them said.

They both giggled. Chae Yeon threw her head back and Tei watched her. She then proceeded to hug him, to which Tei gladly returned.

Chae Yeon thought to herself and whispered. Please… Pleaseee… Don’t make this moment end.

Ah, Chae Yeon-ah, if you only made your voice a little louder…
